Naruto - Chapter 437
Confession
Oh my god, what an awesome chapter. Really, I’m even confused if I should feel happy for such a chapter or sad because of Hinata lol. Anyway, I hope she’s okay.. There’s always a chance.
But, starting from the beginning, Naruto and Pain’s conversation is over. At least Naruto still has his beliefs. Pain pierces him with some more of his special sticks lol. This way Naruto shouldn’t really be able to move. Ma tells Naruto to not give up but, Pain quickly silences her.
Pain prepares to take Naruto when.. Hinata, seeing that he’s gonna be taken, interferes. She knows she’s no match for Pain but, she will protect Naruto no matter what and she confesses her feelings for the first time. It seems like Hinata’s true and final personal development only happened now. I really hope she’s not dead, she would be a wonderful character now.
Naruto, hearing this, and then witnessing Hinata’s "death", he can’t help it, I don’t even think he would want to. Too much has happened. He goes Kyuubi on the spot. The transformation doesn’t even take one second. I don’t even think there will be a problem with him running berserk through the village, at least until he kills Pain.
Pain doesn’t seem that worried but, he came close to lose to Naruto has a sole shinobi, can he really fight a six tailed Kyuubi, with just one body?
Kyuubi’s six tail form also has some kind of skeleton covering his body. I’m not sure if it will just cover him like some kind of cloth of armor or if it will really become like Kyuubi’s bones.
Also, in the final shot, you can see some little balls that may seem like chakra balls near his mouth. His he going for that chakra blast? I mean.. Judging from the previous blast, I would say we’re lucky if this one, in case no one stops it like Orochimaru did, just destroys the whole village.
Meanwhile, Shikamaru and the others continue their plans to find Nagato and more exciting, Gai and his team are finally arriving. Neji has already noticed Gamabunta.
Overall, really awesome chapter, one of my personal favorites. Hinata’s scene, was just so powerful. I just hope she could have at least touched Pain once before being defeated, I think her character deserved a little more.

Hinata’s death was way too quick imo. Hopefully she’s not really “dead” dead, just “probably” dead like Kakashi.

when kakashi first supposdly died. really, I believed it, i think it would just ruin it to make him survive, like “oh he’s a cool and loved character, so he can’t die” or something like that. but, hinata.. after all that. She just become one of my favorite characters and after some seconds she’s “dead”. if I had to bring one of all the dead characters to life, it would be her

Always been a big Hinata fan and was worried that she’d never have a chance to be in the spotlight again, amongst such a big cast, since her fight with Neji was her chance for development. But this was incredible. Loved it so much. She may have been relatively useless against Pain herself… but considering how much of Konoha has been devastated by him, i don’t think she can be blamed or considered useless. :p
Regardless though, her appearance was intense and cemented in my mind that these recent chapters really have been a big improvement over the recent months/year whatever.
And while i do think characters being killed off can be a really good thing, i do feel that Kakashi’s ‘death’ would have been far too understated. I’m all for the understated deaths, adds a nice sense of realism in that death can occur suddenly and with relatively little fuss around it, but when a character such as Kakashi is seemingly eliminated with very little warning its a bit hard to believe that his ‘death’ was genuine.
And to be honest, i never once assumed that Hinata was dead until i heard/saw more people talking about it as her death. As much as i love her character, it does feel like her death would be appropriate. It had all the marks of a death-call…. unfortunately…. :(
Interesting to think that Team Gai could accidentally walk into the firing line of 6-tails Naruto though…. there’s really no one beyond Sakura/Sai/Yamato and Kabuto (Orochimaru)/Sasuke that is alive who has witnessed Naruto with Kyuubi power… so might be interesting for others to see that. Could go many ways… seeing the suffering it puts him through, feeling sympathetic towards his burden is one i can see occuring… unless he accidentally kills some Konoha people of course….
Lots going on and lots to be excited by.
And whether it was her final Hurrah or not, good work on Hinata for manning up and stepping forward while Sakura wusses out. :p

yeah, there’s really a lot of diferent situations that could happen. I’m really excited to see how the first next chapters will set things up.
and Hinata just became my top female character.
I’m not sure of the shinobi that could in someway be witnessing Pain defeating Naruto. but, Hinata was the only one to step up and actually do something, instead of wussing out like you pointed rory

Well I’ve been hearing so much about this chapter it’s about to make me go nuts.
Hinata this…Hinata that! Oh my Poor Hinata~ She’s my favorite character..
I’ll stay with my words. Hinata is a good character, I’ll admit she is good, but I guess I haven’t been sucked into her fan girl and boy followers! That is all :-)

me neither. its just that I would really like to see how and naruto and her would develop from now on.
she’s also right now, almost the only interesting girl in the series, and then she dies. its like giving us candy and then taking it away lol.
i wouldn’t have been like this if they just killed her without this develpment, i would just think “oh.. they killed a character that had yet to develop further, it could have been interesting..) lol
