Naruto - Chapter 449
Hope Blossoms
Well, seems like I totally missed the fact that yesterday was Friday lol anyway, I’ve read Naruto just now. Not sure how much people will feel about this with all the revivals but, I loved this chapter.
I remember someone saying that Nagato would revive everyone and really thought it wouldn’t happen. I knew he going to use that last jutsu to help Naruto somehow but, I never thought he would revive everyone. Nagato really as the power of a God. Using the last of his chakra and life, he brings everyone back to try and make for his acts, just like when Jiraya took him under his wing.
Jiraya and Nagato’s dreams lye with Naruto now. Naruto managed to change Nagato, he reverted back to his long lost dreams.
Even Kakashi, finally talking with his old man, is brought back. Somewhere along the rode to the otherworld, he manages to completely clear his and his father’s issues. His father is now able to move on.
Nagato dies after hitting his limit. Konan gently takes the bodies with her. She offers Naruto her complete trust and offers Amegakure’s help. The two villages will definitely be allies after this, and not just "allies". Much like the Sand and Konoha, Konoha and Amegakure will now work together to try bring forth the future they envision.
Meanwhile, Sasuke has finished his preparations, he’s ready to move to Konoha. A new arc begins.
Now, things won’t probably go as fast as he plans, the Cloud village will probably engage him first. Meanwhile, in Konoha, as things settle, they will probably receive notice of this and it’s probable that Naruto will end up coming to Sasuke instead of the contrary.
I must say "Naruto’s" arc was much greater and meaningful than Sasuke’s. Naruto truly matured while Sasuke has just been redirecting his revenge to it’s origin. This also marks a turning point on Konoha’s history. Naruto has clearly attained enough strength to be Hokage. He will definitely succeed Tsunade some day. And with this, the Konoha that Sasuke seeks revenge against doesn’t really exist anymore. Still, Sasuke will have to let his rage and revenge take some form. Sasuke really chose the wrong path, not sure we can’t blame him though.
As for Akatsuki, not sure if they can still collect the bijuu’s and all that now that Nagato isn’t around. I’m very interested to see how Madara will react to all this. Can’t wait for this new arc.
Overall, love the chapter. Many people will probably be against the whole "revival" thing but, I think this chapter really needed that, or all the pain cycle wouldn’t stop. Also, there’s still some arcs to come, and they will probably surpass this one in "epicness". Important characters will definitely die. But, for now, I’m happy Kakashi and the others are alive and I can’t wait to see them encounter Sasuke.
- Personal Enjoyment: 5/5

Finally someone who appreciated this chapter! I’ve read so many degrading comments lately that I’m getting a bit overwhelmed. Yes, I loved this chapter too. Yes, I can’t wait to see what will happen in the arcs that follow. And I’m actually going to miss Nagato; I was hoping that he wouldn’t need to die - but at the same time, I knew it was inevitable.
Thank you for this post, I really appreciate your view on this chapter. It’s nice to see that I’m not the only one who loves this series as it is: a set of unique characters combined with some serious optimism to brighten up our cynical world.

yep, I haven’t searched the net yet about this chapter but, as I said, I already knew many people wouldn’t probably like it because of the “happy” ending. still, it just felt right, i wanted those characters back deep down. the series would lose to much without them. also, we already had some big losses like Asuma, and I’m sure there will be more but, right now I want them to be alive and ready to put some sense into some other characters (and I mean, violently xD) lol
thks for the comment, glad you appreciated it

also, if you actually think about it, it isn’t just the author’s own choice to bring those characters back, not really a matter of personal opinion. because, if you look back on all this and see the overlying theme of this arc, it’s pain and war and the cycle it brings. Naruto is the “promised” child, is the one supposed to end this and unify the world. it’s only natural that naruto would succed and be able to change Nagato, or else his true objective as a main character with be a failure. the fact that nagato also tried his best to make it up somehow, making something huge like reviving the ones he killed, was really the best possible outcome the author could think of, this way, not just Naruto, but the whole village will stop the hatred.
because they werent there with naruto, the only way they would understand and forgive him is by seeing this
also, they now recognize naruto as both a really powerful shinobi and a true important person who can change world and lead them to a better future, the 2 most important qualities for an hokage right now

i mean that, even if I also personally liked it better for those characters to die, i would still now that it makes much more sense and it’s much more true to the manga to bring them back and end this arc like that

You are so right about the “…or else his true objective as a main character would be a failure” part. Kishimoto is probably working hard to keep everything in balance and to constantly come up with solutions that help him to steer this story along the path that he’s obviously chosen to follow from the start. There are so many details that he has to take into account, and sometimes the decisions he makes may seem arbitrary, especially when readers fail to see the underlying necessities of making them. I guess it tells more about the readers - especially the Western audience - than they themselves are willing to acknowledge.
Anyway, I’m not usually into overanalyzing things, but the flood of negative responses really did take me by surprise. Thank you again, and keep up the good work with this blog :)
