Bloody Monday - Volume 5

Volume 5
Chapters 33-41

Bloody Monday 5

The first part of the volume deals for the most part with Houshou, shedding some light on her past. Her story is nothing exceptional but, she wasn’t truly evil, vengeance just drove her to a bad place. The way it ended, where she was leaning to re-join her country’s side, and the fact that she and Kanou seem to have feelings for each other, made it really dramatic.

Anyway, among many things, Jacob escapes, J meets Falcon, Ryuunosuke runs away, Kanou goes on a lone revenge and Third-I gets infected.

Falcon and J’s meeting was really cool, we got to know how J really is. Two new cool enemies were introduced, this girls look like maniac versions of Maya, even she doesn’t look comfortable around them.

Meanwhile, Kanou is alone following the escaping group and it’s likely he will be killed. Hope nothing happens to him, I really like his character. As for Ryuunosuke, someone went into his hospital room to do something to him. I think he managed to defend himself and run. But, now the fake police officer has given orders to restrict him, and fire if needed. He seems to be planing his death.

Bloody Monday 5

Really nice volume. Really dramatic first part and really intense second half. It ends with major cliffhangers on all parts of the plot, really nice.

Volume 4
Chapters 24-32

Bloody Monday 4

We finally learn how Falcon got into Third-I and how he helped prevent a major attack from happening. They were able to catch the terrorist leader before anything happened. But, a cult tried to rescue him later, which caused some deaths.

They used a virus then, that was pretty much like the Bloody Monday. Also, attached to the information that Shikimura sent, there’s hints at his research for finding an anti-viral for that virus.

After that, Maya makes a deal with Fujimaru and Third-I. That deal turns into all sorts of intense situations with lots of twists and cliffhangers happen. Really nicely done.

This series really is much better enjoyed read whole.

I’m not going to discuss much more plot, because it’s a pain to go through everything and spoilers will be kept minimum. But, it was good and intense.

So, just about the ending, Falcon proves how good a hacker he is. He was kind of starting to look real week, just a really good hacker but, nothing more. I finally makes an impact and looks cool again lol Anyway, it would seem he and Otoya will be the ones solving things again.

Still, because of his latest show of skill, he’s been put on a death list, along with Otoya. Can’t wait for more. Really nice volume.

Bloody Monday 23

J and Falcon reach the same conclusion, the data on the cd is the dna information for the creation of an anti-viral for Bloody Monday.

He also discovers about the incident two years ago. The attack that he managed to "stop" due to his hacking, was the first time they tried to release the virus. Not sure how the "new" virus is different and if there really are two versions. Not much about it in this chapter, just the discovery, need to read more lol.

Bloody Monday 23

We also learn about Otoya being kidnapped when he was younger, not sure if it will matter.

J

Bloody Monday 22

Jack releases the grenade and sacrifices his own arm so he can escape. Falcon and the others are safe inside. Anyway, Jack can’t get away, Falcon has called the police and they are already there.

Jack is outside, surrounded, missing an arm and drenched in blood. The phone rings and picks it up. He reports the situation and that he probably won’t be able to make a safe escape. He throws his gun away like the police ordered and all hell breaks loose.

Once Fujimaru gets outside, he witnesses Jack’s final actions. This is what normally happens in war movies, where soldiers already know they are going to die but, they go out with a bang. This was the reverse. And Jack really did a lot before being taken down. I mean, I think they took him down.. I don’t think he was even trying to escape, just going out in his style.

Bloody Monday 22

So, every thing’s fine for now. Meanwhile, "K", the mysterious leader, is going to use "J" next. It seems he’s some sort of super hacker, like Falcon. Things are becoming interesting. It was also cool seeing K for the first time, he looks much like a child, who is he? And it seems they are planning some special event for a Monday (go figure lol) and that Falcon was implicated on all this from the start.

Bloody Monday 21

Jack faces a really averse situation now. He’s about to try and leave when he gets kind of mad and really decides to try and kill them all.

Otoya goes to attack, Falcon instructs him and allows him to hit Jack’s hand, dropping one of his guns. He helps him adjust his aim so he can shoot again, they just need one hit. They shot the arrow but, Jack, judging from the previous shot is able to deflect this one. He also shots in Otoya’s direction and wounds him. He’s about to kill him when Aoi electrifies him using water. Still, he manages to get away and prepares to use a grenade. Aoi, charges in and kicks him.

Bloody Monday 21

Still, Jack manages to get the grenade, he’s in the ground preparing to use it. Otoya and Aoi don’t have the time to run. Falcon ends it by realizing Jack is just beneath an entrance shutter. He close the shutter and Jack’s arm is almost chopped. So, everything is over.. until Jack releases the granade anyway.

Bloody Monday 21

Great chapter, the action was really intense and well thought. The last cliffhanger was cool too. I though Jack would just leave without an arm but, he ends up "winning".

Battle In The Dark

Bloody Monday 20

So, Falcon gets a little over excited and starts saying "cool" stuff like "I’m the brains of this laboratory" lol. Anyway, he closes and lowers all windows and shutters, making it pitch black. Still, the killer is well accustomed to fight in the dark.

Falcon then starts using audio transmissions from all the scatered pcs to disorientate the killer while he instructs Otoya on how to rescue Munakatta.

They manage to save Munakatta. Takagi and her will be leaving while the other 3 stay to trully kill or capture the killer. Really thought Falcon was gonna say "this laboratory will be your grave" in the end lol.

Cool chapter but, I’m still expecting more from the next one.

Re-Encounter

Bloody Monday 19

Takagi disappointed me a little, he was way to nervous but, I guess that could be expected but, he doesn’t seem much like the reliable character he once seemed. Anyway, they run from the killer and end up meeting Fujimaru and the others. They were already suspicious of something but, never expected to find Takagi there.

Still, Munakata is left behind and they can’t escape without her. Fujimaru hacks the laboratories defense system and promises to not letter the killer escape.

Bloody Monday 19

Fujimaru finally gets into hacking action again. The chapter was good. I’m curious to see exactly how Fujimaru is going to help catch the killer.

The 2 Files

Bloody Monday 18

Fujimaru calls Hide to let him know the last updates. Hide acts like a complete pussy. I’m guessing something will end up happening to him, because of his "mom". Fujimaru and Otoya decide to go look for his father while Maya is questioned. Asada comes along with them.

Bloody Monday 18

Meanwhile, Takagi goes to see a past friend, Munakata, of his who Shikimura sent the secret file to, for safe keeping. But, the assassin appears. More, Fujimaru’s clue to finding his father is going to that same friend.

Bloody Monday 18

It was a cool chapter, the short action scene was really well done with tension. I wonder how things will go now that Fujimaru and the other two arrive at the very same place.
