Ice Revolution - Chapter 8

Act 8
A Sky So Blue

Ice Revolution 8

Masaki confronts Sayaa out of rage, even though Sayaa isn’t really responsible for anything, and says some horrible things. With Sayaa’s issues, it’s possible this has done some damage to her. Exactly the opposite of what Kaoru wanted.

Ice Revolution 8

Anyway Masaki goes to talk to her new best "girl"friend. "She" helps her understand things, how she’s probably over reacting (because there’s nothing really saying that Kaoru is in love with Sayaa) and how she was unfair with Sayaa and should ask for sorry.

Masaki leaves with new energy. She’s going to ask for sorry and continue skating.

Ice Revolution 8

The sorry part is really funny and both girls go back to their usual relationship. Meanwhile, Masaki learns that Kaoru will be returning soon for the Japan Junior Championships. She decides to do all she can to enter it.

Ice Revolution 8

She’ll have to rise through the ranks at high speed. Although, her trainer quickly shatters her hopes by explaining how difficult it is. Furthermore, she tries learning a new jump. It takes a lot to learn it and she further realizes how far she is from championship level.

Ice Revolution 8

Still, she goes to say goodbye to Kaoru, who seems to like her now. And as they depart, she promises to meet him in the championship. At first, Kaoru looks surprised but, he quickly understands Masaki’s determination and believes in her and says he’ll be looking forward to meeting her there.

Ice Revolution - Chapter 7

Act 7
Confessions Upon Confessions

Ice Revolution 7

Masaki was a success. Everybody congratulates her, Kaoru included. They talk for the first time honestly and everything is good.

By the way, Masaki’s cute moments abound now that she’s acting more like a girl. This chapter didn’t have much of the over-the-top comedy present in past chapters but, still awesome and funny in it’s own way.

They start messaging and eventually go on a "date". They have a lot of fun but, there was something Kaoru wanted to tell her. It turns out it was for her to try and support Saya while he’s away (because he’s going to study for another country) and Saya had some issues.

Masaki gets devastated and angry that it all because of Saya. The chapter ends with her leaving Kaoru and meeting Saya by chance.

Ice Revolution 7

This chapter was really good. The drama, comedy, everything was really nice and entertaining. The art portrayed really well all the emotions. I don’t read much drama manga but, thier art is generally laking in detail and realism, Ice Revolution is really good in that department.

I’m really curious to hear what Masaki will tell Saya and how she will respond.

Ice Revolution - Chapter 6

Act 6
The Two Claras

Ice Revolution 6

So, it’s finally Masaki’s time to enter a real Rink. Saaya is the first one up. Her Nutcracker performance is perfect.

Masaki is going to go for the Nutcracker too but, after Saaya’s performance.. There’s also the fact that Kaoru is there. She’s really nervous.

Ice Revolution 6

She ends up screwing and falls. She loses complete focus and panics. Nao-san then helps her have a "moment" with Kaoru where she realizes he’s still there for her. She gets her confidence back and starts the show for real.

She then forgets her planned performance and just improvises, actually using more of her self (her karate skills) in the performance.

Ice Revolution 6

So, this chapter was good, dramatic. I’m really interested to see how Kaoru will react to her now. I also learned some stuff about figure skating lol

Act 5
Condition For Taking The Stage

Ice Revolution 5

Masaki goes visit Tarou with her new look. He doesn’t recognize her right away. He never noticed she was a girl, he even though she might like Katakura. Anyway, they go the ring to try and start a routine training. Masaki ends up copying Katakura. She does it exceptionally well. Tarou realizes she’s a genius when it comes to this stuff.

Masaki’s problem is her feminine grace in the movements. That’s what she really has to train but, moving on, Masaki finds out that Tarou was once one of the best. They start training together and their bond seems really tight now.

The chapter ends when the Ice Show is about to start.

Ice Revolution 5

It was a nice chapter, nothing great happened but, this series really has a good feeling going for it. Not much comedy in this one too but, even without quantity there’s quality.

Not sure of what to expect of the next chapter but, I’m sure I’m going to like it lol.

Act 4
Change The World

Ice Revolution 4

Kaoru notices Masaki and comes to greet her. But, he doesn’t remember she’s the same girl he met before. So, he mistakes her for a guy lol. Instead of getting all sad, Masaki actually starts pretending for real she’s a boy so she can be friends with Kaoru easily.

This doesn’t last long when she understands that nothing will happen if she keeps pretending. So she decides to "turn" into a girl right now. She goes to a famous salon.

After some strange travesty stories she gets her transformation. She really looks normal now and doesn’t really feel ashamed or anything. Now, it’s time to see what the other people will think of her.

This chapter wasn’t as funny as the others and a little deeper. A good chapter nonetheless. I’m looking forward to she Skate Exhibition.

Ice Revolution - Chapter 3

Act 3
Outside & Inside

Ice Revolution 3

Masaki’s first real lesson is to learn the basic compulsory figures, starting with the circle. She ends up making a bet with Saaya. If she can’t learn it in one day, she’ll quit.

Masaki then breaks into the ring at night to have more time to train and manages to understand the concept with help from the ring’s caretaker.

In the morning she shows Saaya she’s able to do it. Their relation seems to warm a little at this time. But, even if they are more friendly now, they’re still rivals.

Kaoro notices her in the ring for the first time. It’s probable they meet in the next chapter.

Overall, this chapter was really good like the others. Although less stuff happened, it was still very funny to watch. I really love this characters. It’s like they can make the story interesting even if nothing at all was happening.

Ice Revolution - Chapter 2

Act 2
Before You Learn To Skate

Ice Revolution 2

Masaki’s first problem in becoming a figure skater is her father. It’s an expensive sport, so she needs her father to pay it but, her father doesn’t like the idea of trading karate for skating.

Ice Revolution 2

She ends up using Katakura to help her unwillingly.

Ice Revolution 2

This chapter, although not as crazy as the first, was still really funny and entertaining. Even with the story still greatly undeveloped, I’m liking the characters and situation a lot. Looking forward to future chapters.

Masaki Meets Ice

Ice Revolution 1

Description: Being the daughter of a dojo manager, Oosawa Masaki has been practicing nothing but karate. Her chance encounter with a certain young man sparks her interest in figure skating. Can a mannish Masaki transform into a sweet, lovely girl on the skating rink?

Ice Revolution 1

Genre: Shounen, Sports
Author: Tsutsumi Aya
Artist: Takemura Youhei

Ice Revolution 1

I’m not sure why I download this chapter, neither the name nor the description motivated me. Guess I was just bored but, I really glad I picked it up.

First of all, this manga is funny. And I mean, it’s really funny. Lot of situations are greatly exaggerated in a way that’s surprising and really funny at the same time.

Ice Revolution 1

The main character, Masaki, has a problem. She’s not very feminine and because of the way she dresses, people often mistake her for a boy. One day, when her girl school uniform finally arrives, she’s crossing the street and doesn’t see an incoming truck. She’s saved by a boy and she suddenly falls in love with him. She then discovers that he ice skates and that she’s actually interest in the sport herself.

Ice Revolution 1

Anyway, the plot is not the strong point for now, I loved this chapter, because the main character is really interesting and keeps you wanting to read more. There’s also the comedy, I haven’t read something so funny in a while.

Ice Revolution 1

For now, it’s the comedy and the relationship between Masaki and Kaoru. I’m not sure if in the future, the ice skating competitions will become a more important subject of the story and the manga will become more shonenish, which would be a good thing.

Ice Revolution 1

The art is very cool and detailed and it’s the kind of style I really like.
